Here’s today’s new video blog. In this video I discuss how we can be the biggest reason why we fail on diets. Specifically how we ‘talk’ to ourselves and rationalize/justify our eating and/or exercise decisions. What do you think? Are you guilty of this?

I’m pretty darn good at rationalizing cheats meals and ditching workouts, particularly when I feel celebratory about something. I may have completed a project at work, or it’s just Friday night, but my mind starts to go to the reward center and most often that translates into inconsistency with respect to my goals. I usually seek out approval from my significant other since she doesn’t have similar goals and will indulge with me. Ultimately, it’s on me to be ‘persistenly consistent’ as you said. One thing I need to do is associate something other than food as a reward. Thanks for reminder, Mike.
